Serial Killer Undisclosed Snapshots

Rodney Alcala, now 66, was tried, convicted, and sentenced to death three times for killing 12-year-old Robin Samsoe on June 20, 1979. Witnesses testified that Samsoe was riding her bike to ballet practice in Huntington Beach, Calif., when Alcala asked her to pose for photographs. Then he kidnapped her and later killed her. Now, Orange County prosecutor Matt Murphy says he can't help but wonder if the people in the photographs are still alive. All of the photos were taken before 1979. Convicted serial killer Rodney Alcala used his camera to achieve the faith of youthful women. Now, after discovery of  hundreds of potraits, police fear photographs he snapped decades ago could hold images of more victims. This snapshots shows a man who appears to be Alcala staring hauntingly at the camera with his arms around an unidentified woman. On March 10, 2010, Huntington Beach police released hundreds of photos taken by convicted serial killer Rodney Alcala. The images were taken before Alcala was arrested in 1979 for the murder of 12-year-old Robin Samsoe. Most of the subjects in the photos have never been identified and police are asking for the public's help in figuring out who they are. Rodney Alcala's photos feature primarily women and young girls. Some shots are candid, others clearly posed. Most show women staring unknowingly into the camera of a serial killer. Alcala was convicted March 10, 2010 of killing 12-year-old Robin Samsoe in 1979 and four other women. A few of Rodney Alcala's photos are of young men in sexually suggestive poses. Most of the subjects in the photos have never been identified. In his final argument during Alcala's 2010 murder trial, Orange County prosecutor Matt Murphy, called Alcala a "hunter" and "a predatory monster." Murphy later said he can't help but wonder if the people in the photographs are still alive. All of the photos were taken before 1979.
